Meet the Swheat Escapist
Hi! I’m Maddy, owner of Swheat Escape. After years of experimentation, I consider myself a self-taught gluten-free expert. Living with celiac disease for more than ten years, I know firsthand how challenging and isolating it can feel to go through such an extreme diet and lifestyle change. My ultimate goal of Swheat Escape is to make the transition for others as seamless as possible. In 2020, I curated my favorite creations to date into a 90-recipe cookbook, which illuminates how easy gluten-free cooking and baking can be with the right modifications and techniques. However, knowing that not everyone loves being in the kitchen as much as I do, I’ve partnered with some lovely farmers’ markets and small businesses in the greater Philly area to offer prepared baked goods that rotate with the seasons of the year. All of my creations are made possible by my foolproof all-purpose gluten-free flour blend. The blend is so effective for everything I bake that I decided to mass-produce and offer it to the rest of the world. I’m also excited to share the newly released blend, which no longer contains overly processed ingredients, such as corn starch and xanthan gum!
